After a quick three day work trip to Germany, I had the chance to meet one of my best friends who currently lives in Europe and had the chance to visit Amsterdam!
It was another quick three day trip, so tried to book as many events and tours within the short time frame. The city was very crowded from tourists from all over the world, and the locals were getting ready for one of their annual events: Kings Day (or Koningsdag in Dutch?). Orange was the color theme of the event and it looked like Clemson fans took over the city!
One of the most popular attractions within Amsterdam are the museums. Some of these tours book months in advance, so if you’re thinking about going make sure you book ahead of time. I was luckily able to book a small group tour at Van Gogh, highly recommend to do this as the museum was packed!
The skull painting was one of my favorites, reminds me to live life to the fullest!
After the museum, went to a Dutch restaurant nearby called The Pantry
I was also able to book tickets for the Heineken Experience, if you’re a fan of the beer highly recommend! I’m not a huge fan of Heineken, but they did a really good job with the tour.
If you have the chance, make sure you stop by the rooftop bar afterwards!
The last day, I had the chance to visit one of the coolest breweries I’ve seen: Brouwerij ‘t IJ. The brewery is located inside a windmill within the city and they do offer tours, although we just stopped to try some of the beers.
